    Triumph Integrated Systems – Mechanical Solutions is a premier developer and producer of electromechanical controls and mechanisms for the Aerospace industry.  These products include push pull controls, related gearboxes and interfaces; pilot interface controls such as throttle quadrants and control sticks; control levers for landing gear, flap spoiler; electro-mechanical uplocks; latches; hold open rods.  Products are used on fixed and rotary wing platforms, commercial and military applications.  Triumph is a supplier to nearly every aviation prime and many major subsystem suppliers worldwide.


    Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.


    Reporting to the Quality Manager, we are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to be based in Shelbyville, Indiana who will support product/component assurance activities.   This individual will use their technical knowledge and experience to audit our processes, develop quality processes and procedures in support of our end customers and meet regulatory and statutory requirements.  S/He will coordinate product assurance procedures, complete assessments and work with other staff in support of customer or regulatory plant audits/assessments and interact with high-level customers.


    Position Responsibilities:

    • Partner with QC to develop inspection procedure and testing for components and assemblies.
    • Utilize GD & T experience to program CMM and other inspection equipment.
    • Lead the disposition of MRB materials for suppliers and aid with MRR dispositions for assembly issues as necessary to support other QE’s and production operations.
    • Support QC inspection work and IPRS clarifications/updates per QMS requirements.
    • Conduct sort and containment activities, as necessary, to maintain production requirements to support our customers.
    • Assist with internal audit program, per our QMS requirements.
    • Solves problems, help update and generate OP, WI and manage decisions for improving operations per industry, statutory requirements.
    • Troubleshoots by using good problem-solving methodology/judgment and collaborating with other departments and staff.
    • Write solid root cause/corrective action reports, depending on format required or dictated by customers.
    • Investigate and provide solutions to support the flow of materials to our operations or products to our customers.
    • Coordinate DDCRs with Design staff to make necessary drawing updates as required.
    • Assist in the collection of data to create and/or review FAI documentation in support of QC or customer requirements.
    • Support QMS activities and improvements as necessary.
    • Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive attitude.
    • Fosters positive relationships with internal staff and external vendors or customers.
    • Other responsibilities as defined by QE management.


    Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Detailed mechanical design knowledge.
    • Knowledge of the Aerospace industry or other highly regulated industry
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Project management abilities


    • 5-10 years in a Quality Engineer role in an aerospace company
    • BS in a technical field
    • Knowledge of AS9100 
    • Working knowledge of basic mechanical design and GD&T principles
    • Proficient in blue print reading and interpretation
    • Experience with CMM programming and concepts
    • Experience interfacing and communicating with others outside our company.
    • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
