  • Overview

    Performs structural assembly, riveting and inspection operations of major components and assemblies. Assures quality conformance to company/customer requirements and specifications. Responsible for assuring final quality acceptance of installations, configuration and operational response of mechanical systems, structures, components and controls.

    Responsibilities

    • Works from engineering drawings, blueprints, quality procedures and instructions, operation sheets, military specifications and procedures, work sheets and verbal instructions. Perform a variety of riveting and structural assembly operations.
    • Performs structural assembly, riveting and inspection operations of major components and assemblies.
    • Performs fitting and rework operations prepare and maintain necessary documentation and records.
    • Reads and interprets withholding tags, standard specifications and standard repair manual.
    • Approves and stamps acceptable assemblies that meet specifications and reject assemblies that do not meet requirements.
    • Knows and utilizes current cost tracking system.
    • Adheres to all applicable safety and operational procedures and directives.
    • Assists and instructs lower classified assemblers.
    • Performs Production Accountability duties associated with the processing, verification, quality auditing and inspection of assemblies, parts and tooling for the individual has been delegated production accountability.
    • Brings to the attention of supervision all malfunctions, defects and damages of equipment, material and product.
    • Keeps work areas clean and orderly.
    • May be required to perform other duties as required.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or an accredited GED and a minimum of five years of aircraft sheet metal structural assembly experience.
    • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a United States Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.
