  • Overview

     

    Assures compliance to customer requirements of all product produced by Triumph AeroStructures – Hot Springs, AR. Compliance is determined by mechanical means, review of test reports or certifications, or by monitoring of any acceptable Statistical methods used to assure conformance to requirements and process capability.

    Responsibilities

    • Measures parts and materials for conformance to specifications, using micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
    • Operates CMS (Coordinate Measuring System) suck as a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) to dimensionally inspect product
    • Reads and interprets aerospace manufacturing drawings / models – including tolerances, customer specification and technical requirements
    • CMM inspect purchased and internal manufactured parts for conformance to purchase order, drawing / model and specification requirement
    • Apply GD&T in accordance with ANSI Y14.5 with tolerance up to .xxx places
    • Performs visual, dimensional, mechanical, and optical inspections per work instructions
    • CMM works from engineering drawings, internal and external specifications, quality assurance standards, test procedures and verbal instructions to determine acceptance of product
    • Performs FAI in accordance with AS9102
    • Documents product acceptance / rejection on manufacturing order, processes any necessary rejection documentation and performs various ERP system functions
    • The ability to read, understand and interpret prints as well as customer specifications and requirements.
    • Able to interpret parts list and Assembly instructions.
    • Understanding and skill working with geometry and trigonometry.
    • Proficiency in fundamentals of dimensional metrology.
    • Knowledge of CMM operation and fundamentals of programming.
    • Excellent comprehension of machining process.
    • Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
    • Computer literate (training will be provided in the various software programs)
    • Verify product conformance through extensive use of inspection tools and gauges.
    • Operation of the DCC-CMM for verification of product to customer requirements.
    • Capable of learning how to edit and maintain DCC-CMM programs, light programming.
    • Verify completion of Quality documents and accurate representation of product flow throughout the system.
    • Assist in the maintenance of the Calibration System and its tools and gages.
    • Effective communication of results to manufacturing.

    Qualifications

        Requirements:

      • Possess good communication skills both written and verbal.
      • High school education or equivalent.
      • Relevant experience in quality assurance (3-5 years preferred).
      • Documented training in Blue Print reading, Precision measurements and Applied math
      • On the Job experience with reading aerospace blue prints and using precision measuring instruments
      • Working knowledge of Aerospace products & production / assembly processes
      • Understanding of FAI and general Inspection procedures preferred
      • Proficient with researching, interpreting, and applying customer specifications & work instructions or procedures
      • Working knowledge of GD&T
      • Must have ability to apply GD&T in accordance with ANSI Y14.5
      • General knowledge of Verisurf and CATIA

      • Overall pursuit and understanding of quality requirements demonstrated within current position 
      • Experience with Measure Max, PC DIMIS, or other CMM programming software is a plus
      • Experience with Model based software like Enovia is a plus.
