Responsible for the cost, quality, schedule and technical performance of company programs/projects or subsystems of major programs/projects. Directs all phases of programs/projects from inception through completion. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, quality, schedule, and technical performance. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program/project from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
The Program Manager 2
Acts as the primary point of contact with customers. Work with customers and internal functional disciplines to support quality, technical, schedule, and financial contractual requirements and address customer needs. Coordinate associated work, through functional leadership, of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas. Conduct briefings and technical meetings with internal and external representatives and support change board activity. Monitor and manage program activity to ensure customer satisfaction, profitability and performance to established performance goals, reporting to the Program Director. Perform risk assessments and create and execute mitigation plans based on results. Participate in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes as required. Coordinate/Support the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operating budgets, and financial terms and conditions of contracts. Develop and nurture relationships with existing customers resulting in new business opportunities. Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master schedules. Identify program problems. Strategize and obtain solutions such as reallocation of resources, application of Lean processes, material change proposals for competitive sourcing and make/buy opportunities.
Assignments are received in objective oriented terms. Provides guidance to subordinates based on organizational goals and company policy. Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organization’s objectives and schedules. Establishes operating policies and procedures that affect subordinate organizational units. Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to organizational policies. Accomplishes results through subordinate supervisors, or exempt specialist employees. Subject to approval, modifies the organizational structure or centralized functions and units. Often responsible for managing a staff function of the company. Responsible for all projects assigned to the organizational unit. Acts as an advisor to subordinates supervisors or staff members to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational problems. Directly participates in establishing and administering many centralized functional projects. Develops and administers budgets, schedules, and performance standards. Exerts influence in the development of overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in critical delays and modifications to projects or operations; cause substantial expenditure of additional time, human resources, and funds; and jeopardize future business activity. Frequent contacts with equivalent level managers and customer Representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, or contractual clarifications. Conducts briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.
The successful candidate will typically have a bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least ten years of successful experience in a Supervisory or Administrative capacity in the aerospace industry. Candidate must have Aerospace Manufacturing background. Prefer candidate with financial operations experience within an aerospace environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills are mandatory. Experience in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) and SAP is preferred.
