    Deburr Technician

     

    Position Description:

     

    The qualified Deburr / Polish Technician will support the Production Team.  The position is responsible for efficiently performing manual blending and polishing on precision components using multiple types of deburring tools that remove rough edges on metal parts, per engineering specification requirements. 

    Due to growth within our business we have an opening for a Deburr / Polishing Technician on the afternoon shift with a start time of 3:30 pm.  The Afternoon Shift Team receives a premium on all hours worked.  We provide training and development.  

    Responsibilities

     

    • Perform repetitive deburring operations by removing excess metal and surface defects from parts by polishing, grinding, and cleaning per engineering specifications.
    • Operate hand-grinding tools or machines normally used for deburring including manual lathes.
    • Maintain compliance with safety and quality specifications.
    • Meet production standards.
    • Operate material handling equipment such as pump truck and overhead crane.
    • Responsible for maintain a clean and organized work area.
    • Will assist with material handling throughout the plant on an as needed basis.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum of 2 years related work experience in a custom machining environment, within a manufacturing team. Coop experience is an asset.
    • Capable of reading and interpreting customer blueprints
    • Ability to select tools, read specifications, manuals and work procedures.
    • Knowledge of micrometers, bore gages, optical comparators, surface analyzing equipment, calipers, height gages
    • Clear Background Records Check
    • Meet the registration requirements of the Controlled Goods Program
    • Able to work in Canada, Canadian citizen or permanent resident
