    Triumph Group designs, engineers, manufactures, repairs and overhauls a broad portfolio of aircraft structures, components, accessories, subassemblies and systems.

    We are seeking a Senior Metallurgical Engineer to support our Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AMCoE) in our office in Redmond, WA.  

    The Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AMCoE) is a state of the art facility focused on providing expertise in Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies to our customers. 

    The AM Metallurgical Engineer will lead process development and materials testing for AM titanium and aluminum parts and provide M&P support for conventionally manufactured metallic parts.



    Support additive manufacturing of titanium and aluminum parts.

    Establish criteria and processes to establish and monitor material properties for additive manufactured parts.

    Work with company, industry, academia, and government experts to develop the path for qualifying additive manufactured parts for use on air and space vehicles.

    Support development of new additive manufacturing parts from initial feasibility studies through process development and validation.

    Review and consult on materials and processes for conventionally manufactured parts.   

    Support investigations on material and process failures

    Establish materials laboratory processes

    Provide mentoring to less experienced engineers



    • Strong experience in aerospace materials and processes with a focus on metals and metal processing
    • Experience with materials allowable development processes
    • Experience with aerospace finishing processes
    • US citizenship or US permanent resident status is a requirement for this position.
    • S., or Ph.D in Materials Engineering or Materials Science
    • Familiarity with metallic material testing methods and equipment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
