    As a member of the Strategic Sourcing team, the Project Manager is responsible for overseeing cross-functional projects i.e., supplier “work transfers”, cost reductions, etc. for 2 facilities, Park City, UT and Macomb, MI. Projects are of a moderate to complex nature.  The incumbent will oversee project planning, prioritizing, and scheduling. Successful candidates must effectively negotiate to manage project schedules and ensure all milestones are achieved within identified and documented time, budget, and performance expectations.  In addition, the Project Manager will monitor and report the status of all projects to executive staff, project sponsors, clients, and other stakeholders.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage supplier/cost reduction initiatives, including transition “work transfer” process, using existing standard work and managing the process for existing and new supplier transitions.
    • Identify, facilitate, validate, and report on cost reduction and transition projects across all commodities (direct and indirect);
    • Responsible for the design, coordination, execution, and completion of various projects. 
    • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor progress, and provide necessary updates to management. 
    • Cost reduction/work transfer coordination and project management strategy development across all commodities working with Commodity Leads.
    • Coordinate and facilitate corporate (multi-company) cost reduction initiative activities, including implementing and maintain a commodity wide savings tracker and project funnel.
    • Create and implement improvements to the strategic sourcing and work transfer processes.
    • Identify and deliver opportunities for cost reduction, driving savings in-line with overall business expectation, ensuring targets for cost reduction are achieved and/or exceeded.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors’ Degree (Business, Operations, Supply Management or Engineering).
    • 5+ years working in a Manufacturing Environment, with proven experience in the procurement and sourcing of a large variety of commodities (raw materials, purchased parts, assemblies, etc.).
    • Complete understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, and shipping/receiving.
    • Previous experience leading projects and participating in team events. .
    • Proven negotiation and strong analytical skills.
    • Experience working with Lean Manufacturing Tools.
    • Ability to define problems, analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
    • A self-directed individual, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Creative, quality, and results-driven work ethic.
    • Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint).
    • Demonstrated experience in negotiating limited supplier, low volume contracts.
    • Experience working with aerospace specifications and quality systems a plus.
    • Materials engineering or manufacturing engineering background highly preferred
    • APICS Certification, Certificate in Purchasing Management (CPM) or Contracts Management desired.
    • PMP Certification highly desired.
    • Up to 20% travel
