  • Overview

    This position reports into Mechanical Solutions Operating Company within Triumph Integrated Systems.  The business specializes in the design, engineering, development and manufacture of proprietary as well as build-to-print mechanical, electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical actuation products and systems used in the military and commercial aerospace industries.  Major customers include Boeing, Pratt & Whitney, Safran, UTAS, and Northrop Grumman.   Triumph is a supplier to nearly every aviation prime and many major subsystem suppliers worldwide. 


    We are seeking an experienced NPI Program Manager who will be responsible for execution of projects through all phases of development and engineering design including successful release to production.  This individual will be responsible for all customer communication and relationships, serving as the primary link between the customer and site level leadership to ensure communication of status and potential problem areas while advising on how to mitigate those concerns.

    Responsibilities

    • Ownership of the program management activities from initial customer and conceptual design through development, qualification testing, and product manufacture within the formalized NPI development process.
    • Prepares schedules, coordinates, and monitors the assigned engineering projects. Manages project timelines, milestones, deliverables, cost, risks, and budget.  Tracks, monitors, and reports program performance using program management tools. 
    • Ensure timely completion of project according to established timelines and deliverables to the customer (SDRL’s, data items, reports, cost estimates).
    • Responsible for the overall program definition, organization, and direction of short and long range plans. 
    • Ensures customer requirements are met. Manages changes through formalized change management process and ensures compliance with contractual requirements.
    • Monitors compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
    • Primary point of contact with customers, communicating with them regarding the schedule and other issues on an on-going basis. Acts as voice of the customer within the organization for NPI activities.
    • Manages relationships with the customer base fostering an environment where complex problems are solved in a manner that instills trust and respect for all parties.
    • Develops and executes program presentations for both internal and external customers as well as summary documents for leadership review.
    • Participates in make/buy discussions, balancing the needs of the customer and goals of the company.
    • Develops and executes an effective strategic plan to manage customer relationships.
    • Leads multi-disciplinary teams (sometimes across multiple sites) to execute programs in accordance with quality, schedule, and cost commitments.
    • Responsible for accurately identifying customer demand for long-term forecasting and SIOP business planning. Integrates NPI requirements with production requirements. 
    • Monitors external and internal environment for development of new market segments and informs customers of new developments in our product line or production capabilities.
    • Attends customer conferences, meetings, and events.
    • Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook.
    • Responsible to utilize ERP system for transactions and analysis.
    • Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
    • Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferable) or 4-year technical degree
    • Master’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field a plus
    • PMP certification preferred
    • 8+ Years of demonstrated experience managing engineering projects involving complex technology in a regulated industry.  Aerospace industry experience preferred.
    • Proficiency with MS Project or similar project management software
