    Triumph Electronics & Control is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets. 

     

    We have an immediate need for an Electronics Technician in our West Hartford location to provide production support for the manufacture and test of electronic hardware, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for highly engineered electronic engine control products. As a member of the Electronics Value Stream you will be responsible for meeting customer delivery requirements by effectively troubleshooting product, assisting in identifying test set issues, and working as a team member with product support, engineering, and quality groups to resolve production issues.

    Typical assignments will include troubleshoot electronic hardware down to the component level to determine root cause and resolution of malfunction with data driven evidence to support corrective actions. Document required repair hardware to operational state, execute verification activities at the sub-circuit, assembly and end item level. 

    Work with the engineering department to execute root cause and corrective action plans. Capability to operate necessary laboratory equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, meters, and ability to understand their use and functions.

    Responsibilities

    1. Execute production testing, product verification assignments, and troubleshoot end items to the component level
    2. Conduct, gather, and document test results data to identify trends
    3. Utilize standard laboratory equipment to perform data gathering, trouble shooting and corrective  action (soldering irons, DVM, oscilloscopes, power suppliers, standard mechanical hand tools)
    4. Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and PCB layouts
    5. Strong problem solving and written communication capability
    6. Working knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) 

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications 

    1. Associate level technical degree or equivalent certification required.
    2. 5+ years or more electronic product troubleshooting experience
    3. Understanding of microprocessor based control systems 
    4. Strong background in Analog and Digital circuitry
    5. Familiar with Electronic theorems, laws, and equations
    6. Methodical troubleshooting approach
    7. Ability to efficiently isolate problems and drive root cause
    8. Team player comfortable working in a cross functional group

     

    Desired or Preferred Qualifications 

    1. Aerospace with electronic engine controls a strong plus
    2. FAA Repair station experience
    3. Working experience with CAN (Controller Area Network) protocol
    4. Experience with LABVIEW
    5. Working knowledge of JTAG
