    Responsibilities

    Oversee Quality Assurance Operations as they pertain to in-plant and customer quality. Assists engineering and manufacturing in resolution of quality-related issues. Supervise Quality Inspectors.

    1. Directs Quality Engineer/Inspectors in the timely gathering and reporting of in-plant, supplier and customer quality data.
    2. Implements the company’s Quality Management System, as it applies to the Quality department.
    3. Interfaces with customers regarding quality-related issues at finished goods, raw material and fabricated stages.
    4. Participates as a Quality Representative for the Engineering Change Board.
    5. Works with Quality Representative for the Engineering Change Board.
    6. Participates as a Quality escort during customer visits.
    7. Assists in the development and maintenance of a business culture, which supports the Company’s overall business objectives and goals, by providing leadership in issues that involve “cost, quality, process, schedule and people”.
    8. Ensure proper safety procedure is followed within the team environment.
    9. Maintain clean work environment in full compliance with company, customer and government regulations.

     

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    As additional staff may be added: Is responsible for the overall direction and evaluation of a specific area of the quality department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to organization policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, counseling, employee development and performance reviews.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • 4 years bachelors’ degree in engineering or manufacturing or equivalent in experience.
    • Plus 7-10 years experience as Quality Engineer and Quality Manager in aerospace fabrication manufacturing.
    • Current ASQ Certified as Quality Manager.
    • Experience supervising both exempt and non-exempt staff.  Experience with Union environment, a plus.
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with staff members in group or individual level.
    • Ability to work well in a diverse and team environment.
    • Ability to create reports.
    • Requires advance computer skills.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram from and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

     

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    ASQ Certified Quality Auditor/Quality Manager and/or Engineer.

     

    REQUIREMENT:

    Must be a US Person as defined under ITAR/EAR regulations.
