    LOCATION:                                      Staverton, Gloucestershire, UK, (Frequent travel will be required)

     

    WORKING PATTERN:                        Full time (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year) occasional out of hours’ work and travel will be required

    Responsibilities

    JOB PURPOSE:   Associates in this role, function as information technology (IT) professionals serving as technical experts and participate in or oversee a variety of analytical and technical assignments that provide for problem diagnosis and solutions documentation, implementation, administration, support, and maintenance of a variety of hardware, software, and network products in an information technology infrastructure environment. The role is broadly split between providing day to day operational support for existing infrastructure services and users of those services, and project based work leading to the development and deployment of new infrastructure services.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
    • Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
    • Direct research on potential technology solutions.
    • Keep current with the latest technologies.
    • Approve and oversee projects and project portfolio.
    • Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
    • Benchmark, analyse, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the Regional IT infrastructure and IT systems.
    • Responsible maintenance and architecture of storage, virtualised environment, servers, network devices, and productivity tools

    • Design, implementation, support, monitoring and maintenance of UK Data Centre and other EMEA/APAC site infrastructure and services, including but not limited to server and storage hardware, LAN and WAN services, telephony services, electrical supply (UPS, Generator), cooling and fire suppressant systems and ensuring availability of infrastructure services.

    • Design, implementation, support, monitoring and maintenance of infrastructure software platforms, including but not limited to server / client operating systems, messaging and database services, reporting platforms and all other software based systems.

    • Develop operational, installation, configuration and upgrade documentation for communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage, software and other computer related systems.
    •  
    • Serve as a liaison between other technical staff, management, users, and vendors regarding service requests, usage, standards, security, and other technical matters.

    • Provide on site or remote access diagnoses and resolution of computer hardware and software problem,
    •  
    • Monitor systems and identify performance issues proactively

    • Work within strict time frames and elevate incidents within defined timeframes

    • Coordinate lifecycle management for all communications servers, business continuance and service restoration strategies, and ongoing roadmap for TGI’s infrastructure

    • Continually evaluate the current state of the European DataCentre application architecture and services against TGI goals and objectives, and adapt operational strategies to maintain alignment.

    • Define requirements for new technology implementations and communicate to key stakeholders.

    • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiatives.

    Technical Requirements

    • Knowledge of network environments and concepts such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory.

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Server technology and infrastructure platforms including Windows server operating systems and database (SQL),
    •  
    • Knowledge of technical analysis, implementation, configuration, and upgrading of network infrastructure consisting of Cisco network LAN, WAN equipment and Cisco Wireless Infrastructure.

    • Knowledge of technical analysis, implementation, configuration, and upgrading of virtualised server infrastructure based on VMware vSphere and HyperV.
    •  
    • Knowledge of technical analysis, implementation, configuration, and upgrading of DELL Server and Storage infrastructure.
