    Senior Quality Engineer - Nuclear Program (End Fitting & Shield Plug Manufacturing)
    This senior position within the Quality Assurance Team is responsible for development of nuclear program-specific documentation, interaction with customers and suppliers, and identification of manufacturing problems and issues. In partnership with management, customers, suppliers, vendors, manufacturing and technical staff, performs root cause analysis. Recommends and implements corrective and preventive processes and procedures in order to prevent recurrence of identified problems and issues.

    Responsibilities

    • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as nuclear quality manuals, QA procedures, Inspection & Test Plans, Work Instructions and related reports.
    • Close interaction with customers to ensure program requirements are incorporated into the Quality Program and fully implemented.
    • Working with Quality Manager to improve Quality System Maintenance.
    • Assist Quality manager in implementing and maintaining the nuclear Quality Management System.
    • Responsible for continual improvement activities and lean methods, to improve quality processes and procedures.
    • Work with the managers and HR department to develop nuclear training programs and build quality awareness.
    • Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure production of new products are in accordance with approved data.
    • Support Quality Inspectors in order to ensure products and processes comply with the nuclear Quality Management System requirements.
    • Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit findings reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
    • Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to manufacturing and customer complaints.
    • Perform other duties as required
    • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), regulations, and internal health and safety policies and procedures

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION:

    • Degree in mechanical, manufacturing or process engineering
    • Quality Management Certification or equivalent work experience

    EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

    • Minimum of 7-10 years related work experience in a custom machining environment, within a manufacturing quality team
    • Knowledge of nuclear equipment including end fittings and closure systems.
    • Knowledge of CSA N285 and Nuclear Code.
    • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Experience with statistical data analysis.
    • Excellent computer skills (MS Office – Word, Excel)
    • ERP (Syteline familiarity an asset)
