    Triumph Electronics & Control is a leading global independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket / spares end markets.


    We are currently looking for a Design Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering team working on designs that are primarily for the technical development of aircraft fuel system components.


    • Generate development layouts and provide input to detail draftspersons to produce details, layouts, BOMs and assembly drawings of fuel pumps and hydro-mechanical fuel controls.
    • Checking details, layouts, and assembly drawings.
    • Participation in continuous improvement teams (Kaizen events), new product proposals, R&D efforts.
    • Participate in customer and management status meetings as required.


    Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • BSME plus 5 years experience preferred; Associates Technical Degree with 8 years experience will be considered.
    • Experience using ANSI Y14.5, military and commercial standards and specification.
    • Ability to work from conceptual input and customers’ technical specification.
    • Communicate and coordinate with other engineering groups to ensure design viability.
    • Experience with tolerance study analysis and be able to support design decisions.
    • 2D and 3D CAD experience preferred (UG NX).
    • MS Office a must.


    Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Familiarity with housing design methodology both from bar stock and castings.
    • Self-motivated and ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
    • Ability to meet project deadlines/schedule within budget.
    • Experience in turbo-machinery, high speed rotating components and high pressure fuel or hydraulic components preferred.
