    The Machinist, Sr sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Produces product by operating one or more specialized manufacturing machines.

    Responsibilities


    • Set up and run machine/machines for production by inspecting parts for malfunctions, troubleshooting malfunctions when possible, and calling for repairs if necessary.

    • Regulates machining by utilizing machine instrumentation knowledge; setting and adjusting controls.

    • Meets production deadlines by following manufacturing schedule and procedures and resolving production problems when they arise.

    • Maintains a safe working environment by utilizing safety applications and keeping all work areas clean.

    • Perform basic shop math and calculations

    • Perform basic G&M code programming. Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met.

    • Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook.

    • Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.

    Qualifications


    • High School diploma or GED required.

    • Three (3) years operating manufacturing machines, including a CNC lathe, mill drill, grinding machine, CNC mill machine and deburring required.

    • Associates degree in a technical discipline preferred.

    • Ability to read, write legibly, and understand English.

    • Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiple, and divide).

    • Mechanical/technical aptitude.

    • Attendance dependability.

    • Ability to work independently.

    • Flexibility with changes in work requirements.

    • Ability to stay focused and meet deadlines, which may require overtime.

    • Attention to detail.

    • Perform basic computer skills, such as open and save files along with basic data entry.

    • Understand basic terminology used in the job functional area.

    • Ability to read a blue print.


    • Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.




    • Ability to frequently bend, climb stairs, and reach.




    • Ability to sit for up to ten (10) hours per day, stand up to ten (10) hours per day, or a combination of sitting and standing.
