  • Overview

    Including, but not limited to, tests and inspects products to determine compliance with specifications. Include on- and off-line inspection. Supervises employees who inspect products to determine compliance with specifications. Responsible for Product Quality, determination of equipment and facilities required to maintain adequate inspection support of the assembly line. Provide training and guidance to Inspection personnel, conduct performance evaluations and establish inspection policies and procedures to assure compliance to customer and company requirements. Oversees Quality, Cost and Schedule performance for areas of responsibility. Develops, establishes and maintains quality assurance programs, policies, processes, procedures and controls ensuring that performance and quality of products conform to establish standards and agency guidelines to ensure lasting customer satisfaction. Provides expertise and guidance in interpreting governmental regulations, agency guidelines, customer requirements, and internal policies to assure compliance. May serve as liaison between the company and various governmental agencies, suppliers, and customers. Works directly with operating entities to ensure that inspections, statistical process control analysis, and audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements and meet specifications. Establishes and ensures that all inspections requirements are accounted for per customer, governmental regulations, and company requirements. Establishes and ensures compliance with good housekeeping practices and safety. Develop processes and procedures to insure compliance to customer requirements.

    Responsibilities

    1) Direct the activities of personnel assigned to the Inspection Department in fulfillment of Triumph and Quality Assurance Department objectives. 2) Determine resources required to effectively accomplish Company, Customer & Inspection Goals. 3) Assists in establishing Triumph policy for Quality Control. 4) Serves as the interface between Triumph and its Customers in all matters concerning non-conforming material and corrective actions taken or being taken to prevent recurrences. 5) Serves as the interface between Triumph Quality Assurance Management and other organizations such as Engineering, Materiel, Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering in all matters concerning Product Quality, policy, adequate corrective action methods, and other MRB related functions. 6) Prepares procedures, instructions and budgets for accomplishing objectives in an organized and cost effective manner. 7) Trains personnel within organization in the requirements of the Inspection functions in preparation for more responsible and rewarding careers, emphasizing equal opportunities. 8) Assure digital measurements are taken in assigned areas and meet customer requirements. 9) Take proactive approach in preventative Corrective/Action to improve Quality & reduce cost. 10) Develop, respond, and initiate correct action plans. 11) Understand and participate in the AS9100 site development. 12) Participate in customer and company audits. 13) Maintain required certifications and qualifications for direct reports. 14) Continuous evaluation of area inspections and resulting corrective action. 15) Responsible for departmental manpower and overtime planning. 16) Responsible for departmental performance appraisals and disciplinary action. 17) Participate in procedure reviews and continuous improvement events. 18) Coordinate and participate in First Article planning and execution. 19) Assure compliance of PRA and MRB non-conformance reports. 20) Prepare departmental status reports. 21) Plan and document corrective action statements in response to audit findings. 22) A&P License is a plus but not required. 23) Must be willing and able to work any shift if needed.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of aerostructures related experience, an Associates Degree with 4 years of aerostructures experience or a High School Diploma/GED Equivalent with 8 years of aerostructures related experience.
