    We are looking for a Tecnical Writer who will be writing, rewriting and/or editing technical documents such as Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs), Service Bulletins/Letters, Military Technical Orders, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, for hydro-mechanical aircraft components. 



    • This position may also be called up to write/edit technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and/or other related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
    • Data necessary to write/edit these documents will need to be obtained by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
    • Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials
    • The position includes coordination and over-sight of low-cost economy technical data contractors, coordination with other Triumph sites and business units, and close coordination with customers, as required.


    • Associate Degree or Technical School Degree with emphasis in basic engineering and written communication skills.  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technical Writing, or other technical field is desired, but not required.
    • Must have a demonstrated knowledge creating, formatting, preparing and compiling large documents in FrameMaker, MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, or other document processing tools. 
    • Must have experience utilizing various CAD tools such as UG-NX, SolidEdge, SolidWorks, creating iso-metric and exploded views of parts and assemblies. 
    • Must have hands-on experience preparing technical documentation for complex products.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.  A strong proficiency in technical writing, grammar, document flow, and instructional simplified English is essential and required.
    • Thorough knowledge of ATA specifications and strong technical writing skills are desired. 
    • A strong background in hydraulic component or hydraulic systems design or strong mechanical aptitude is desired.
    • Must have thorough experience with Adobe FrameMaker
    • Must be adept at using illustrating tools such as Canvas or IsoDraw. Must be able to create illustrations in compliance with ATA specifications.
