Local aerospace manufacturing company in Chatsworth looking for a Machine Shop Helper/Laborer to assist experienced machinist. The position itself does not require previous experience but the successful candidate should have previous manufacturing experience. It would help to have forklift experience and overhead crane experience.
Performs tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience. Will assist a skilled worker such as a machinist by performing specific or general duties such as: keeping the skilled worker supplied with materials, tools, and supplies; cleaning working area, machines, and equipment; assisting worker by holding materials or tools.
Helpers/Laborer will be required to climb on top of CNC work tables to assist experienced machinist in performing set-ups. Will be moving parts in and out of the work area either with a forklift or manually. Will be required to pickup and pull up and carry parts weighing nearly 60lbs. The Helper laborer will be responsible for cleaning in and around the machinery, by blowing aluminum chips and using a shovel to place in recycling bins.
No experience required, but the following previous experience is preferred.
