    This role is responsible for implementing Industrial Engineering solutions to optimize complex processes, systems and organizations. As a subject matter expert, the candidate will support tactical operations related to scheduling, manpower, EAC, and large-scale process engineering improvement.  The manager will facilitate and lead efforts to analyze and design optimized manufacturing sequences, work flows and time standards by utilizing time-motion studies, capacity analysis, factory simulations, and industry estimating tools.  The functional manager will interface internally with all levels of management; as well as customers, suppliers and government representatives.  The qualified candidate must be comfortable pitching and selling project initiatives and providing project statuses to these individuals.  This position will work with the functional IE team to incorporate unified functional policies, procedures and standards, harmonizing them across all TAS sites. 




    • Drive and support uniform business methods, tools and practices as related to time-motion studies, capacity analysis, and factory simulations
    • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks and drive cost effective initiatives focused on yielding improvement and capacity enhancement
    • Provide product and process Design for Manufacturability input to enhance operational processes downstream from design
    • Analyze and provide solutions for labor cost reduction through process improvements and cost/benefit analysis
    • Be responsible for the design, collaboration and execution of the layout of the manufacturing building(s) as well as overall process and product flow
    • Provide input to establish and maintain functional policies, procedures and standards
    • Establish and maintain work standards using time studies across all operational processes 
    • Establish and manage proactive ergonomic processes that evaluate, recommend and implement improvements to work area, tools and fixture designs
    • Motivate and manage cross-functional on projects from inception to closure
    • Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems – solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives
    • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout


    Basic Qualifications:


    • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering with 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing or machining environment
    • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field with general knowledge of other related disciplines
    • Ability to act independently and drive projects – identify critical paths, develop and execute work around and or mitigation plans for issues and deliver projects on time within cost
    • Knowledge and experience with the capital process from planning, justifications for capital projects, and leading capital projects
    • Project Management, LEAN, and Six Sigma experience, training and/or certification
    • Team oriented with ability to both participate and lead medium-large projects through all phases
    • Deal well with high-pressure situations, shifting priorities, and competing interests
    • Exceptional communicator with the ability to gauge audience and tailor message
    • Proficient writing reports, conducting meetings and using MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
    • Travel to other Triumph Group sites, suppliers and customers as required (up to 50% between Wichita and Kansas City)


    • Experience with SyteLine ERP systems.
    • Master's Systems or Engineering Management
