    Performs scheduled/unscheduled inspections, minor/major maintenance, operational checkout and troubleshooting on assigned powered/non-powered ground support equipment/vehicles. Performs welding and associated activities such as cutting/grinding as necessary to repair equipment back to serviceable condition. Must be able to certify in welding mild steel and aluminum

     

    Responsibilities

    Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

    • Performs daily flight line driving and servicing functions
    • Responsible for proper and accurate maintenance documentation and time accounting systems associated with repairs
    • Use hand and power tools
    • Uses test and diagnostic equipment
    • Complies with all applicable technical orders, equipment manual and regulations
    • Maintains immediate work area, facilities, and vehicles using good housekeeping and safety practices
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years of related experience. Post high school coursework or professional certification preferred.

      • Thorough knowledge of
        • General automotive service, industrial equipment repair or aerospace ground equipment
        • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic principles
        • Microsoft office basics
      • Skill to
        • Read and use electrical wiring diagrams in the performance of maintenance
        • Read Blue Prints / Drawings
        • Operate common and special hand and power tools
        • Operate special test and diagnostic equipment
        • Learn industry-related software
