    Based in North Wales, PA, Triumph employs approximately 120 personnel. The company’s key products and services include design, development, manufacturer and support of highly engineered mechanical controls and components as well as production of complex mechanical assemblies using external designs for fixed wing and rotary commercial and military aircraft, naval vessels, military vehicles, nuclear power stations and industrial plants. 

    We are looking for an experienced Project Design Engineer who will support the design, development and manufacture of the up-lock, latch and hold open product lines for our Windsor site.  This Project Engineer will be responsible for the overall success of the project and ensure that s/he will drive the project level activity. S/he will also support existing product lines as well as manage new product and technology developments. 

    Responsibilities

    • Ownership of the engineering process from initial customer and conceptual design through development, qualification testing and product manufacture within a formalized stage gate development process structure.
    • Design and develop new ideas and solutions for new product development as well as current products modification and improvements based on technology and market strategy.
    • Applies his/her expertise and knowledge to technical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve products, techniques, procedures, and technologies.
    • Lead presentation of designs at critical PDR and CDR reviews.
    • Generates product proposals, presenting proposals to customers and generating cost models to support customer targets.
    • Manage project timelines, milestones and deliverables.
    • Use mechanical engineering experience for a mix of product development and improvement. 
    • Champion the use of best practices, adherence to company standards, accuracy of construction documents, and technical discipline coordination.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering,  Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
    • At least 8 years of applicable work experience directly related to the design and development in a highly regulated environment, mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment experience preferred.

    • Experience with meeting military or medical specification and testing requirements desirable.
    • Experience with machining and assembly processes, along with a natural mechanical aptitude.
    • A strong technical background.
    • Prior experience designing mechanical systems and project management.
    • Mechanical design, creativity, conceptual design
    • Knowledge of the Aerospace industry or other highly regulated industry
