    Triumph Engine Control Systems is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter, and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 500 personnel. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

    We are currently seeking an experienced and accomplished Business Development Manager who will be accountable for the planning, directing and execution of new and existing business opportunities, including developing and maintaining OE customer relationships.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for identifying new business opportunities, providing data and analysis to enable informed management decision making and developing plans and strategies that lead to revenue generation and growth.
    • The role requires direct interface with customers and the aerospace industry at large.
    • Collects market data, analyzes situations, qualifies opportunities and provides actionable intelligence to support management decision making.
    • Responsible for understanding and effectively communicating both the company’s and the customer’s needs and capabilities to the respective parties.
    • Manages and formulates proposals and plans with focus on developing and implementing win strategies and messaging. Monitors progress to ensure on time delivery.
    • Manages cross functional teams and defines/organizes tasks for supporting departments (e.g., engineering, programs, contracts, pricing and export compliance).
    • Participates in industry events, monitors relevant market trends, and assesses the company’s strengths, weaknesses and opportunities to inform bid/no bid decisions, IR&D projects and investment strategies.
    • Represents the company's values of ethical behavior, integrity, and follow-through on commitments to establish trust and develop customer relationships.
    • Will be exposed to confidential company proprietary and company strategic information.
    • Manage and work through IPT teams.
    • Execute, monitor and control the schedule, cost deliverables, risk management and scope to meet stakeholder expectations.
    • Leverage the use of the Triumph Product Development Process to support New Product Introductions.
    • Operates across the enterprise to resolve elevated issues internally and with the customer, working to ensure removal of roadblocks to success.
    • Coordinates with Program Management, Contracts and Contracts Administration.
    • Presents and represents business opportunities to customer and Triumph senior leadership
    • Participate in strategic planning/financial planning processes
    • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events.
    • Participate in and support program management activities, including customer meetings, technology roadmaps, and proposals.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required; engineering or another technical field preferred.
    • 3 years of subsystem or systems sales experience in the aerospace, space or defense sectors is preferred.
    • 10 years of overall manufacturing experience in the aerospace, space or defense sectors is preferred.
    • Must have demonstrated success in managing projects, including responsibility for cost, schedule, and performance.
    • Project management experience is highly desired.
    • Demonstrates a commitment to Quality, specifically Six Sigma, Lean and continuous improvement philosophies.
    • Strong business acumen coupled with aptitude and motivation to learn new functions and expand areas of expertise as well as understand and influence stakeholders and see the big picture.
    • Effective strategic, long-term and planning thought processes
    • Manage all major issues in primary practice areas with minimal supervision.
    • Possess excellent communications skills
    • Comfortable in giving presentations to senior leadership
    • Focused on customer needs, builds and maintains trust in relationship
    • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, as required, about 15-20%
