Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies, or mechanical units and subassemblies.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work from prints, tables, specifications, and acceptance criteria or data to layout and inspect a wide of variety of parts, materials, components, sheet metal, composites
  • Ensure the integrity of the Quality Management System is maintained when related to quality assurance processes.
  • Verify product conformance through extensive use of inspection tools and gauges.
  • Operation of the DCC-CMM for verification of product to customer requirements.
  • Capable of learning how to edit and maintain DCC-CMM programs, light programming.
  • Verify completion of Quality documents and accurate representation of product flow throughout the system.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Calibration System and it’s tools and gages.
  • Effective communication of results to manufacturing.

Qualifications

Minimum Eligibility Requirements (Skills):

 

  • Possess good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • The ability to read, understand and interpret prints as well as customer specifications and requirements.
  • Able to interpret parts list and Assembly instructions.
  • Understanding and skill working with geometry and trigonometry.
  • Proficiency in fundamentals of dimensional metrology.
  • Knowledge of CMM operation and fundamentals of programming a plus
  • Excellent comprehension of machining, assembly processes and identify sources of variation.
  • Thorough understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Computer literate (training will be provided in the various software programs)
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools, height gages, gages, fixtures to perform bench inspections.

Education/Experience:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in quality assurance (3-5 years preferred).
  • Experience with Measure Max, PC DIMIS, or other CMM programming software is a plus.
  • Experience with Model based software like Enovia is a plus.

Safety Functions:

  • Promote a safe, clean and organized work environment.
  • Wear required safety equipment (safety glasses, ear protection, rubber gloves, etc.)
  • Report all work related injuries to supervisor as soon as possible.
  • Notify senior management when condition does not comply.
