Triumph Engine Control Systems is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter, and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 500 personnel. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

 

Position

Triumph is actively recruiting a summer 2018 Industrial Engineering intern to support a range of responsibilities in a high pace manufacturing production environment. The internship provides a college-level student with practical experience related to his or her major that will enhance and complement classroom learning.

excellent analytical, and problem solving skills, good writing ability, and must be self-motivated with good interpersonal and team skills. Knowledge of continuous improvement philosophies and must be pursuing a BS degree in Business or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of new factory floor Inventory layout redesign to promote optimal manufacturing flow and inventory space conservation
  • Support  manufacturing/operations processes aimed at improving productivity, implementing continuous improvements, operational efficiencies and to reduce cost while ensuring quality standards are maintained.
  • Design systems to integrate workers, machines, and information to make products or provide services
  • Develop fixtures and tooling, manufacturing or process layout, work instructions
  • Eliminate waste in production or manufacturing processes
  • Develop and report performance metrics
  • Implement corrective actions
  • Design and develop manufacturing methods to increase effectiveness, efficiency, and space.

Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior Year, minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Pursuing a bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
  • Innovative approach for driving process efficiencies and cost reduction
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Good writing ability
  • Self-motivated with positive interpersonal and team skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to work with all levels in the organization
