Responsibilities

Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.

  1. Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to coordinate with supervisors the accurate plan producibility of products. line operations.

  3. Confirms material supply and demands.
  4. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.
  5. Schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders.
  6. Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  7. Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems.
  8. Prepare and maintain production/inventory control reports as well as shipping documents
  9. Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  10. Develop or implement production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports, to detect production problems
  11. Develop and maintain a strong sense of teamwork among the crew members
  12. Ensure conformance to organization goals and initiatives, ensuring timely completion.
  13. Assists in the development and maintenance of a business culture which supports the Company’s overall business objectives and goals by providing leadership in issues that involve “cost, quality, process, schedule and people”.
  14. Ensure proper safety procedure is followed within the team environment.
  15. Maintain clean work environment in full compliance with company, customer and government regulations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent in experience.
  • 3-5 year experience as production control specialist.
  • Proven track record in meeting performance goals.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP system and analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills to effectively communicate with a diverse group.
  • Creating a cohesive workforce that is goal oriented towards meeting company quality standards and performance.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement (CI) and methods utilized to apply CI.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from internal customers and team members.
  • Must have strong mathematical skills to calculate, understand, and apply concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Is able to calculate in fraction, decimal, ratios, and percent.
  • Requires excellent computer skills in windows and MS Office Suite. WDS exp. desirable.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
