Responsibilities

Working from engineering design documents, prototypes, and/or change orders, prepares labor and cost estimates and determines equipment, tooling, materials, methods of manufacture and facilities required to produce a particular product in scheduled quantities and at the lowest cost consistent with quality specifications by performing the following duties.

  1. Under direct guidance from sr. engineers, design manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  2. Support the design arrangement of machine within plan facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  3. Under the guidance of sr. engineers, designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  4. Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
  5. Conducts specials studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
  6. Work directly under the guidance of senior engineers and consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  7. Conducts research and/or development projects associated with the design and development of new products and services.
  8. Determines the most cost-effective integrated fabrication and inspection method to meet customer requirements.
  9. Maintains close working relationships with all departments and individuals involved on assigned projects, and coordinates with customer representatives as necessary.
  10. Assist in the maintenance of a business culture which supports the Company’s overall business objectives and goals.
  11. Ensure proper safety procedure is followed within the team environment.
  12. Maintain clean work environment in full compliance with company, customer and government regulations.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES:

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 4 years bachelors’ degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or equivalent in experience. Plus 1-3 years experience in a aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Experience preferably in a sheet metal forming processes (i.e. – drop hammer, hydro forming, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of ANSI Y 14.5 – geometric tolerancing and dimensioning.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively collaborate with co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to follow and comprehend verbal and written instructions as well as present information in both verbal and written form. Understand and analyze reports, legal documents and effectively present information to management and public groups.
  • Ability to perform mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts in all units of measurement in percentage, fractions and decimals as well as interpret graphs and technical drawings.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse and team environment.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
