Responsibilities

This position is part of the Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) team, within the Supply Chain Quality organization and reports to the Director of Corporate Supplier Quality. The selected candidate will provide managerial leadership to a team of SQA Supplier Quality personnel deployed at supplier sites performing product acceptance and supplier performance management on behalf of all the Triumph Group Companies.

 

The selected candidate will have experience in Supplier Quality Management in a leadership role. Be accountable for collaborating with executive leadership at our Triumph Group companies and the supplier sites, evaluate and recommend solutions that involve technical and contractual issues, coaching their personnel in their development and performance, and for ensuring the team activities are directly aligned with achieving quality and afford-ability goals. He/She will also be responsible for: hiring, performance assessment, and other activities related to the management of the team regional assignments.

 

The selected candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Effective leadership style that is highly influential
  • Experience solving technical, contractual, and/or performance issues
  • Experience interacting with Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and/or with Government Customer Representatives.
  • Experience maintaining productive relationship with supplier and managing frequent interactions with supplier executives.
  • Engineering or other technical bachelor’s or master’s degree, per the typical minimums defined below.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, or Science; equivalent experience when coupled with desired quality science skill will also be considered.
  • 6+ years related professional experience, 3-5 years related management experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment within the Aerospace and Defense industry. 
  • Green Belt or Black Belt, CQE/CMQOE certification.
  • Demonstrated quality science expertise the following areas:  Practical understanding of System/Process thinking (Deming). Statistical analysis, statistical process control, sampling, Six Sigma, FAI, PPAP, APQP, PFMEA process auditing or validation, root cause analysis (8D, A3, Apollo), corrective action validations, and supplier quality management.  Understanding and experience with AS9100, AS9145, AS9103, AS9117.
  • Ability to travel 25%-50%.
