 Wash Technician  - $17/hr


The Wash Technician / General Labourer position is responsible for the cleaning and degreasing of precision components for the aircraft, aerospace and defense industries.  Preparation of parts is preformed using pressure wash equipment and other tools based on detailed instructions and work orders.  The parts range in size from 6 to 18 inches in diameter and from 3 feet to 10 feet in length.  Starting salary is $17/hr with a salary increase after successful completion of training.



  • Coordinate the work to be completed as directed by the supervisor, ensuring production and quality targets are met
  • Wash, degrease high precision machined components in preparation for assembly, inspection, subcontract, packaging and final shipment.
  • Keep work area clean and maintain all equipment
  • Ensure products meets client requirements and specifications
  • Work in a fast paced manufacturing environment, where a high degree of attention to details and multi-tasking is required
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and management
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and be open to cross training
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislations, policies and procedures
  • Perform duties in other areas of the plant when assigned by the supervisor



  • High school diploma or equivalent. Some college/vocational or technical training would be an asset



  • Experience in washing metals and/or machinery operation in a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Able to follow detailed work instructions and procedures
  • Understanding of engineering drawings an asset
  • Team player with an eye for quality
  • 1-3 years experience in a general labour role
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast paced environment doing repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, executing physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Effective verbal and listening communications skills
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs
  • Knowledge of overhead crane operation an asset
