    Based in Windsor, CT, Triumph employs approximately 120 personnel. The Company’s key products and services include design, development, manufacture and support of highly engineered mechanical actuation and components for fixed wing and rotary commercial and military aircraft and military systems. 

    We are looking for a Design Engineer who will deliver new, innovative concepts for customer by discovering novel solutions, troubleshooting problems, and creating technical presentations and documents. This person will bring a fresh, creative perspective to our design process and team. From concept to delivery, this role will be working in a hands-on environment, designing systems for sophisticated platforms within the aerospace industry. This role will work with small groups and be exposed to all aspects of the engineering department.


    • Designs products based on input from management; through collaborating and conferring with other members of the design engineering and manufacturing engineering team; by studying customer requirements and interacting with customer representatives.
    • Responsible for taking the lead and managing specific platforms and/or programs.
    • Responsible for solid modeling, detailing and tolerancing, including GD&T.
    • Follow design processes from start to finish; including conceptual CAD layout, iterative design modifications, interaction with analytical staff, final design, preparation of finished drawings, prototype manufacture and test, qualification, manufacture, and transition of parts to production.
    • Support all phases of new product development, including:
      • Determining feasibility of projects by identifying and forecasting costs and requirements.
      • Determining viability of projects via technical analysis, prototype design/manufacture, and testing.
      • Preparing written documentation in support of the above, including proposals, preliminary and critical design presentations and technical document deliverables.
      • Presenting design work as requested to both TMS-CT and customers.


    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
    • At least 5 years’ experience as an engineer with a strong technical background. 
    • Proficient in the use of CAD software, preferred platform is CREO. Skills in other modeling platforms acceptable.
    • Experience designing mechanical parts from conceptual idea, making 2D drawings and 3D models. 
    • Modeling, detailing, tolerancing, and GD&T proficiency required. 
    • Innovative and creative problem-solver.
    • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal, comfortable giving presentations.
    • Ability to multi-task to support team and/or customer need in a fast-paced environment.
    • Analytical skills required to solve complex issues and assist with technical design.
