  • Assists higher level Toolmakers plan, develop, layout, fabricate, construct and repair a variety of complicated and complex tooling as required to support all facets of aircraft manufacturing. Such tooling will include all types of production jigs and fixtures, dies, templates, bonding tools, master models, master patterns, master gauges, and trim and form tools. Support existing programs. Repair, paint, clean ground support, shipping equipment and/or any other duties deemed necessary support production demands.

  • Works from blueprints, engineering orders, tool drawings, tool orders, electronic data, Quality Control procedures, customer specifications and similar information. Performs complex work meeting or exceeding specified tolerances using a variety of precision measuring and calibration instruments and appropriate machine tools.
  • Must be capable of and responsible for communicating, coordinating and taking instruction from higher classified Toolmakers.
  • Approves and validates acceptable tooling and reject tooling that does not meet acceptance criteria. Use and interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, , computing systems, verbal and/or written instructions to accomplish assignment.
  • Operates all types of power and non-power equipment, both hand held and floor mounted to accomplish work assignments or operations.
  • Performs Production Accountability duties associated with the processing, verification, quality auditing and inspection of assemblies, parts and tooling for which the individual has been delegated Production accountability.
  • Prepares and maintains necessary paperwork and records. Must use overhead crane and inner-plant vehicles.
  • Notifies supervision of all malfunctions, defects and damages to equipment, material and product or unusual/difficult situations. Keep work areas clean and orderly.
  • Use eye, hearing, foot, hand, respirator and other personal protective equipment as required. Requires lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs. Frequent walking, reaching, handling, grasping and turning/twisting. Climbing stairs and working from ladders/lifts as required. Occasional use of low impacts tools, stooping, kneeling, crouching and squatting. Exposure to noise and moving parts. Exposure to aluminum, titanium, steel, exotic alloys, plastics, tungsten carbide, cobalt, sawdust, composites, milled fiber, fiberglass and other airborne contaminants. Exposure to solvents, resins, lubricants, cutting coolants and fluids. Exposure to hot or cold environments.


  • The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 years of related manufacturing experience to be determined by interview as sufficient to successfully support production demand.
  • The successful candidate must be willing to work any shift and/or weekends to support production demands as required. Must be willing to accomplish any work assignments in a timely manner as required Must be skilled and proficient with all types of hand tools Will be required to weld and Machine or learn to do so via OJT and/or night classes.
  • Candidate must demonstrate high mechanical aptitude. Use of any of the following will be given higher consideration: Conventional and/or numerically controlled machinery, precision optical instruments, laser tracking or FARO arm systems, welding, overhead crane and inner-plant vehicles.
  • Spatial analyzer software knowledge. Able to use all types of precision linear, angular and optic measuring instruments and equipment in performing inspection functions.
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a United States Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.
