The Supervisor, Shipping & Receiving is responsible for overseeing warehousing, shipping, receiving, inventory control and handling of materials. Supervises transport of materials to and from departments and ensures material needs are met throughout the organization.  The role is responsible to review and monitor all inventory data entry into the Corporate ERP/MRP system.  Strong knowledge of business systems is required to track operations related to receiving raw materials and shipping component parts. 

The candidate will have previous people managment responsibilities.  


  • Coordinate with Scheduling and Purchasing for customer delivery schedules and lead times
  • Follow dispatch lists for all work centers in the operation and maintain daily transactions to update the schedule
  • Supervise the shipping and receiving function, the material handling, external transport services and part wash work center.
  • Develop, document and provide training to team members on best practice processes
  • Develop and implement standardized practices for order processing and fulfullment, staff scheduling, inventory and shipping/receiving.
  • Act as the operations focal point for inventory accuracy, inventory rotation, and inventory location control
  • Initiate a formal 5S program in the Materials and Finished Goods area
  • Supervisors to be formally tasked with checking quality of documentation in their areas, including completing job operations in ERP system.
  • Instrumental leader in cycle counting and annual inventory count
  • Maintain current training and training records of team members
  • Other duties as required by management.
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), regulations, and internal health and safety policies and procedures



  • A certificate or a degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration or equivalent experience.



  • Minimum of five (5) years logistics and materials experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience in the Aerospace or Automotive Industry as a Tier 1 supplier is an asset. 
  • Related past supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of the elements of production planning and scheduling
  • Considerable knowledge of material handling, inventory transactions and scheduling methods
  • Excellent ERP knowledge and understanding of the importance of accurate data entry and recording of operations is a must.
