Coats surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative materials such as paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, dope, or stain using spray gun. Selects and mixes coating material; coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using brush or roller. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Know and understand company and department policies and safety procedures.
  • Be able to schedule out workload and to ensure all work is completed in an orderly and efficient manner.
  • Be able to ensure efficient tracking of all man-hours assigned to jobs.
  • Be able to communicate with people in the work place and with customers.
  • Assures that his/her crew performs top quality work performed by individuals through reviews of production performance and accomplish all functions in a cost-effective manner.
  • Take attendance at the beginning of his/her work shift of assigned crew and report attendance in accordance with TAS payroll procedures.
  • Will assist the Manager in the performance evaluations of his/her crewmembers as well as appropriate disciplinary action as deemed necessary by performance and company policies and procedures.
  • Be able to evaluate and estimate all jobs both in the shop and outside customers.
  • Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers.
  • Ensures all safety programs and procedures are carried out during the assigned shift.
  • Resolves employee problems and complaints by working with appropriate management staff and being receptive to the employees.
  • Insure accurate and complete turnover to schedule work for his/her assigned crewmen.
  • Maintain current awareness of regulations and technical data through regular familiarization of current airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and internal procedures, for work assigned.
  • Be familiar with and shall familiarize all personnel under his/her supervision with procedures set forth by the Repair Station and Quality Manual, and shall assure that the methods set forth within the manuals are followed.
  • Assure inspection, testing and measuring equipment used on aircraft applications are properly and regularly calibrated and shall submit for processing, calibration equipment found out-of-calibration, as required the TAS calibration procedure.
  • Assure parts received from stock are identified with proper maintenance release tags, or in the case of a shelf-life material, they are not expired.
  • Be responsible for all phases of work, on items assigned to them, and ensure that all work is processed through the repair station in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Verify inspection forms, discrepancy reports, required FAA forms, maintenance releases and log entries relating to his/her work are completed properly by maintenance personnel in his/her charge and are processed through the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Assist the Director of Quality Assurance in completing his/her duties as assigned and advise him/her of any un-airworthy conditions or practices contrary to the Repair Station and Quality Manuals or current Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Perform supervisory duties as outlined in the Supervisory and Inspection Roster.
  • Other various duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

Extensive knowledge in specialized functions. A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific phases of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered.

 

High school and 7 years experience in assigned area required or AA degree in related discipline and six years of related experience.

 

 

  • Coordinate with support groups within the organization (Customer Service, Engineering, Procurement, etc.) to ensure product flow.
  • Administer training as required on any and all production topics as needed.
  • Input and update data as required in ERP systems and maintain work order files in office systems.
  • Communicate with upper management as necessary to provide all applicable status of components currently in work.
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Deductive Reasoning - The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of operating procedures and processes.
  • Schedule and assign personnel to optimize production.
