Performs a variety of assembly operations on assemblies or subassemblies and/or build parts for such assemblies, according to work instructions.

Responsibilities

Qualified candidate will be required to successfully do the following: 

  • Work from assembly drawings, blue prints, identify parts, and predetermined assembly sequence documentation
  • Perform assembly, fitting, filing, reaming, riveting, crimping, swaging, adjusting, and inspection.
  • Disassembly, repair, and reassemble of returned or salvaged units.
  • Detect defective or incorrect parts and request replacement.
  • Assist in Set-up of Equipment
  • Detect and correct faulty operation of controls. Test controls in special fixtures in accordance with drawing specifications.
  • Use a variety of light machines and tools such as spot welder, drill press, arbor press, oven, air and hydraulic presses and simple die sets, riveting machine as well as hand tools.
  • Use simple measuring gauges, scales, calipers, dial indicators, universal load testing fixture.
  • Train other employees as required.
  • Work closely with customer representatives as needed.
  • Notify supervisors of any non-conformance.
  • Keep Management appraised and report all unusual conditions to Production Tech and/or Supervisor.
  • Participate as a team member and work to continually improve all aspects of our business.
  • Work safely and adhere to all company policies, procedures and work instructions.

Prefer that candidates possess a high skill and aptitude for reading and understanding blue prints.  Must be able to work independently as needed.

 

In addition to the above prior experience requirements, the incumbent must satisfactorily complete the appropriate on the job and skills training.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with 0-1 years of related experience. Post high school coursework or professional certification preferred.
