Triumph Aerospace Structures, a tier-one manufacturer for commercial, military, and business jet aircraft is currently seeking a Proposal Cost Analyst/Estimator to estimate and prepare the material costs of manufacturing and engineering based on Request for Proposal (RFP) data submitted by prospective customers.  This position will regularly interface with manufacturing operations and supply chain and be responsible for internal data collection.

The Material Cost Analyst  will be responsible for:


  1. Analyzes specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts, and calculates production costs using labor and material pricing, schedules and historical data.
  2. Collects cost data from functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
  3. Computes cost estimates of raw materials, purchased parts, or subcontracted work and labor.
  4. Prepares and maintains historical cost data.
  5. Creates cost models for cost estimating elements.
  6. Prepares cost reports and presents findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, customer representatives, price auditors, vendors, and subcontractors.



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 
  • Successful candidates typically have 6-9 years related experience
  • Knowledge of various materials, commodity types and their use for aerospace components and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of material requirements for manufacturing
  • Understanding of government FAR contracting process
  • Must have strong written and verbal communications skills with ability to communicate with all levels of staff in a diverse work group

  • Strong computer skills using windows and MS Excel and Office suite

  • SAP and Propricer experience preferred

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:


Successful candidates are typically

  • Detail oriented and usually have strong mechanical aptitude or are technically savvy individuals
  • Have a thorough knowledge of aerospace materials, costs, and build principles in areas of assembly and manufacturing shops
  • Have the ability to shift competing priorities and coordinate multiple concurrent tasks
  • Have a thorough understanding of the proposal process with working knowledge in FAR 15 preferred - Specifically Basis of Estimate (BOE)

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a United States Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required
