Based in Yakima WA, Triumph Fluid, Power and Actuation employs approximately 300 personnel. The Company’s key products and services include design, development and manufacturing of hydraulic actuation systems and components.


We are currently seeking an experience Product Support Engineer who will act as the lead for all engineering investigations associated with product failures that occur either in-service or in a production environment, for all products associated with the Yakima facility.


  • Direct interaction with engineers from all major airframe manufacturers, as well as direct interaction with airline representatives.   
  • Develop inspection plans, tear down plans, fault isolation plans, and any other investigation plans in support of investigating product failures.
  • Will interface with FP&A-Y Quality representatives, Production technicians, and Repair/Overhaul technicians to provide oversight of investigation work being done.
  • Formalize all investigations and provide written reports with investigations findings, test data, root cause analysis, and recommended actions.
  • Work with subcomponent suppliers of TIS-Y components assisting in investigations and root cause determination.
  • This will include suppliers of hydraulic valves, hydraulic flow control devices, hydraulic seals, hydraulic pumps, electronic sensors, electromechanical components, and other hydraulic components.
  • Yakima also supports engineering investigations for products associated with other Triumph sites, therefor, the Product Support Engineer will act as a single point of contact for customers and other site personnel when supporting these investigations.
  • Will assist in collecting field and production data to develop reliability metrics and trends that will allow the business to take proactive actions regarding developing product improvements, upgrades, and assist in the design and development of new products to ensure product reliability.
  • Develop training materials for Yakima products, and will assist in providing operational and maintenance training to customers on Triumph – Yakima products.

  • 4-year Engineering degree or 7 years of relevant experience as a Project Engineer or Product Support Engineer.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry, hydraulic equipment, capital equipment, or heavy equipment industries.
  • Prior experience as a Product / Field Support Engineer, or other experience involving direct customer relationships, leading engineering investigations, and leading cross functional teams is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate several projects and engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedule commitments.
  • Must be adaptable to working multiple tasks, have flexible schedules to meet project deadlines, and occasionally travel.
  • This position requires at times, the ability to be on-call 24x7, as needed.
  • Coordinate specific aircraft program technical support activities including resolution of technical problems with in-service hydromechanical products. 
  • Represent Triumph technically at airline and aircraft OEM customers. 
  • Troubleshoot field return units and conduct root cause investigations. 
  • Coordinate the resolution of in-service product problems through concept, design and validation with response to customer inquiries for assigned program(s) in a timely manner. 
  • Coordinate development of Component Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and Product Deviations Authorizations.  Maintain field reliability data for specific products. 
  • Prepare and conduct product maintenance and overhaul training. 
  • Provide Manufacturing and Service Center support on technical issues. 
  • Actively participate in new program design/development.
  • Ability to be flexible (changing priorities), hands-on, analytical and intuitive.
  • Work independently under minimal supervision and guidance to perform tasks of substantial complexity and to be capable of leading and coordinating the efforts of technicians.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, CAD Software NX, Solidworks or similar.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated fluency in English.
  • Must be able to confidently interface with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate designs processes, decisions, results, and company positions.
  • Overseas travel may be required
