Triumph Integrated Systems provides a full range of integrated solutions for aircraft manufactures around the globe. We partner with key manufacturers to produce crucial components, systems and subsystems required to help maintain a competitive and technological advantage. We provide design, development and support of internally designed components, subsystems and systems, as well as production of complex assemblies using external designs.  

 

Based in Clemmons, NC, Triumph Fluid, Power and Actuation employs approximately 200 personnel. The Company’s key products and services include manufacturing, design and repair of complex hydraulic and hydro-mechanical aircraft components and systems.

 

We are currently seeking a Quality Systems Engineer who will apply strong knowledge of quality systems to develop and improve the systems and products necessary to ensure that the business attains its annual goals while meeting Regulatory, Customer and Industry requirements.  

This person will also develop and maintains the systems as necessary to ensure continued improvement and compliance with AS9100/ISO9001.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and executes quality assurance philosophy throughout the organization
  • Leads and assists with audits, both internally and externally, including the completion of customer matrices
  • Champions both internal and external corrective actions to ensure proper initiation, investigation, true root cause analysis, implementation, follow-up and effectiveness
  • Responsible for creating and revising procedures as appropriate to the business with continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supports, solves problems, troubleshoots, and develops process improvements with other departments, suppliers, and customers as necessary
  • Plays an active role on quality management teams within the organization and keeps the management team abreast of significant issues or developments
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and collate data for monitoring targets
  • Contributes and presents quality metrics during Management Review.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  • Assists with the investigation of Out of Tolerance Conditions (OOT’s) with calibration
  • Leads and/or assists with various training activities in the support of Quality Awareness
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team
  • Supports in the implementation of APQP and PPAP
  • Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met.
  • The Quality Systems Engineer role has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Manufacturing/Engineering or technical field, or the equivalent work related experience.
  • Certification as a Certified Quality engineer (CQE) or a Quality Auditor (CQA).
  • At least 2 years in a Quality Assurance role in a mechanical, manufacturing or aerospace industry.
  • Working knowledge of
    • ISO9001 and AS9100
    • The DMAIC, 8 Disciplines, and A3 Problem Solving Approach
    • Various tools for achieving Root Cause Corrective Action implementation and analysis
    • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
    • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 21 and other FAA Regulatory requirements
  • Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing skills
  • Experience working directly with customers and suppliers
  • Read, understand, and effectively write English.
  • Effective written and verbal communications in English.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Proficient knowledge and application of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle interruptions.
  • Ability to multi-task
