The Test & Inspection Manager supervises employees in the Inspection and NDI departments who test and inspect products to determine compliance with specification requirements, Quality inspection, Receiving inspection, Tool inspection and Production Accountability auditors and is responsible for ensuring that the quality, cost and schedule performance initiatives for the department are met. The Test & Inspection Manager is responsible for actively leading Lean and Quality Improvement projects. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Attending staffing, schedule and quality related meeting to report related status updates
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Employee performance to work standards and codes of business conduct
  • Provide input to employee hiring and ranking
  • Perform performance appraisals for direct reports
  • Plan work schedules overtime requirements
  • Provide training to execute job responsibilities for all direct reports
  • Reports daily to Management on all issues requiring Management attention

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in the Aerospace industry, specifically commercial manufacturing -  structures/assembly required 
  • Previous supervision experience required, with strong mentoring and leadership skills needed
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, parts list, specifications, instructions, and test procedures, with ability to use advanced inspection tools
  • Strong understanding of aircraft manufacturing processes

 

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a United States Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.
