Triumph Engine Control Systems is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter, and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 500 personnel. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.



Triumph is actively recruiting a summer 2018 Machining Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support a range of technical responsibilities in a high pace manufacturing production environment. The internship will provide a college-level student with practical experience related to his or her major that will enhance and complement classroom learning.


  • Design tooling and fixtures in AutoCAD
  • Print fixtures in 3D printer
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers with the support of turning, machining, grinding cells
  • Involvement in factory floor layout redesign to promote optimal manufacturing flow and space conservation
  • Contribute by streamlining processes and eliminating waste via introduction of new technology


  • Rising Junior or Senior
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies used in eliminating waste from manufacturing processes needed
  • Innovative approach for driving process efficiencies and cost reduction
  • Excellent mechanical, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Good writing ability
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal and team skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels in the organization
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen or a US Permanent resident
