About the Opportunity
Help us succeed by doing your part as a member of our Core Fabrication shop, serving in the role of a Sheet Metal Mechanic.

Major duties of a Core Cut Mechanic include:

  • Positions honeycomb core on template and masks off areas to be cut.
  • Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts, or uses templates.
  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
  • Trims, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs, and smooths surfaces.
  • Installs assemblies in supportive framework according to blueprints.
  • Inspects assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications.



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • Band Saw experience desired
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must be highly detail oriented and precise, as the position requires specs to be followed with very little room for error.
  • Must be proficient in the usage of hand tools.
  • Be able to read a protractor
  • Able to read a tape measure and calipers
