Based in Redmond, WA, Triumph employs approximately 150 personnel. The Company’s key products and services specialize in motion, control and power systems for commercial and military aircraft and rotorcraft.

We are seeking versatile, detail oriented, Mechanical Project Engineer to assist in mechanical design and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities. 


  • The position will be heavily engaged with engineering, program management, and customers.
  • The individual must know the important elements of actuation systems and motion control (electromechanical preferred).
  • Have a strong attention to detail, and be able to make critical decisions quickly, adjusting to a dynamic product development environment.
  • Actively manage NPI activities for IRAD and customer funded efforts.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and program management.
  • Facilitate engineering development testing and coordinate report compilation and approval.
  • Work directly with customers and suppliers on a daily basis.
  • Execute continuous process improvement activities associated with the NPI process.
  • Work closely with Program Managers to identify and mitigate risk and scope migration.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 5 years experience in aerospace product design and development.
  • Experience designing and testing to aerospace specifications.
  • Works well in a structured aerospace product development environment (AS9100).
  • Apply rigorous engineering principals to structural and dynamic design and analysis.
  • Strong background in 3D modeling and GD&T.
  • Background in building and testing dynamic mechanical assemblies.
  • Proficient with MS Office tools (Excel, WORD, MS Power Point, MS Project).
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Designed, tested, and qualified products to aerospace specifications.
  • Familiarity with Airbus/Boeing commercial aircraft requirements.
  • Working knowledge of electromechanical component application (BLDC motors, resolvers, VDT’s, clutches/brakes).
  • Working knowledge of mechanical power transmission components (balls/roller screws, parallel and right angle gearing, high speed bearings).
  • Working knowledge of common aerospace materials and processes.
  • Ability to facilitate and coordinate activity of support teams.
  • SolidWorks experience.
  • Hands-on experience working with complex mechanical systems.
