Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph Electrons and Controls employs approximately 500 personnel. The Company’s key products and services include specializing in the design, development, certification, manufacture and repair of fuel pumps, fuel metering units, fuel controls and electronic engine control systems for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft servicing military, commercial, regional and business jet market segments.

We are currently seeking a highly-motivated and experienced Systems Engineer to join our West Hartford team.  The Senior Systems Engineer will work in a team environment closely coordinated with the Customer, Program Management organization and other engineering disciplines. 

Responsibilities

  • System definition (software, electronics and hydro-mechanical)
  • Detailed trade studies and analysis
  • Computer simulation and system validation
  • Requirements definition/allocation
  • System integration and test
  • Formal hardware and software verification
  • Customer engine and aircraft test support
  • Test equipment design and fabrication
  • Project management (scheduling, budgeting and cost tracking)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering required; MS degree a plus.
  • At least 5 years of prior related Systems Engineering experience required.
  • Must have working knowledge and experience with DO 178B and DO254 FAA standards.
  • System design skills required, including development of system architectures, trade studies and requirements/specification development.
  • Strong knowledge of system sizing/analysis tools (Matlab Simulink)
  • Demonstrated capabilities in failure analysis and troubleshooting complex systems
  • Able to read and understand complex logic diagrams, source code and electronic schematics.
  • Strong communication skills as well as ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 10-15%.
