Triumph Gear Systems located in Macomb, MI is seeking a NDT Technician, FPI Level III.





  • Develop, train, and monitor proficiency of the Level I and Level II NDT inspectors.
  • Maintain the training documentation of each Level I, Level II and III.
  • Review all incoming customer specifications, codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method(s).
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining procedures and processes to ensure adherence to industry and customer requirements.
  • Audit and exercise responsibility making decisions concerning continued processing or work stoppages of product through the NDT operations to ensure NDT processes are held within customer requirement.
  • Participate in internal, external, and customer audits as applicable.
  • Review for accuracy product criteria and activity instruction associated with the NDT methods.
  • Maintain required documentation and records for specific method as required.
  • Maintain equipment, fixtures, and tools as necessary.
  • Assist in introducing new technology within the NDT methods utilized.
  • Support Manufacturing as needed with production inspection.


  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder')
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Completed Level III certification (NAS 410, ASNT, or similar) for method and must be able to pass the Level III NAS 410 testing requirements.
  • Have fundamental understanding of the general NDT modalities, i.e. Eddy Current, Etch, Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic particle, Ultrasonic and Radiographic Inspection methods.
  • Have a fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes such as casting, welding, machining, and the types of discontinuities.
  • Ability to pass a certification exam for the specific method
