Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (doe) constructs. Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. Complies and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives. May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks. As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability. May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.
Reliability Engineer on BA Global Wing development program. Responsible for performance of design reliability modeling and analyses, including general statistical analysis, failure rate prediction and allocation, historical failure data analysis, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), fault tree analysis (FTA), failed parts monitoring and trend analysis (FRACAS) of aircraft structure and systems components. Develops, coordinates and conducts reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts. Participates in design reviews and trade studies. Works integrally with Safety analyses and assessments. Recommends test methods for achieving required levels of product reliability and determines optimum sample size to obtain statistically valid data. Analyzes requirements and aids in development of reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives. Coordinates with Maintainability engineering.
The successful candidate will typically have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and ten years of related experience.
