The Material Labor Cost Analyst estimates recurring and non-recurring costs of production support and direct manufacturing labor hours based on request for proposal (RFP) data submitted by prospective customers.


The Material/Labor Cost Analyst  will be responsible for:

  • Analyzes specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts, and calculates production costs using labor schedules and historical data.
  • Collects data from functional representatives and manufacturing systems such as SAP, Solidworks, Catia, Enovia etc.
  • Computes cost estimates of labor hours and tooling.
  • Prepares and maintains historical cost data.
  • Creates cost models for cost estimating elements.
  • Prepares cost reports and presents findings to management, contract personnel, proposal coordinators, customer representatives, price auditors, vendors, and subcontractors.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 7 years of related experience
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of management within the organization as well as interface with various engineering disciplines


Preferred Knowledge and Skills:


Successful candidates are typically

  • Detail oriented and usually have strong mechanical aptitude or are technically savvy individuals
  • Have a thorough knowledge of aerospace labor, costs, and build principles in areas of assembly and manufacturing shops
  • Have the ability to shift competing priorities and coordinate multiple concurrent tasks
  • Have a thorough understanding of the proposal process with working knowledge in FAR 15 preferred - Specifically Basis of Estimate (BOE)

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a United States Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required
