Overview

Triumph Engine Control Systems is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket / spares end markets.

 

Triumph is actively recruiting a Production Electronics Intern to support a range of technical responsibilities in a high pace manufacturing production environment. We are looking for a local student to begin working full or part time starting in October and continuing through next year. The internship will provide a college-level student with practical experience related to his or her major that will enhance and complement their classroom learning.

The ideal candidate for this position should have excellent electrical, analytical and problem solving skills, good writing ability, and must be self-motivated with good interpersonal and team skills. Familiarity with principles of manufacturing production line layouts, knowledge of LWW continuous improvement philosophies and must be pursuing a BS degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of new solder rework technologies to current production processes
  • Involvement in factory floor layout redesign to promote optimal manufacturing flow and space conservation
  • Knowledge of basic electrical analysis instruments (i.e. oscilloscopes, multi-meters) to assist with component level analysis’
  • Assist with incorporation of new product introduction into our existing electronics department infrastructure
  • Contribute by streamlining processes and eliminating waste via introduction of new technology and automation

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates must be in their Junior or Senior Year, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Pursuing a Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies used in eliminating waste from manufacturing processes needed.
  • Innovative approach for driving process efficiencies and cost reduction
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels in the organization
  • Candidates must be a US Citizens or a US Permanent Resident.
