Triumph Engine Control Systems is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket / spares end markets.
We are currently seeking a Project Engineer for our Electronics organization in our West Hartford facility. A Project Engineer in Electronics will be responsible for executing a development program for an electronic engine control from design conception through transition to production (phase of program entry and exit may vary based on scope of program).


  • Maintain development program on schedule and within approved budget
  • Execute program in compliance with the internal product development process through tollgate system.
  • Develop an optimized product design to meet customer and company requirements including cost, weight, reliability and manufacturability.
  • Coordinate with members of the IPD team from other departments to successfully execute electronics projects and meet electronics deliverables per the program schedule.
  • Act as the Electronics team leader within the IPD (integrated product development) team structure.
  • Customer technical liaison, act as the key technical link to the customer for the electronics development program.
  • Conduct Engineering Program Reviews for the development program
  • Document test procedures and reports and interact with the customer


  • BSEE degree required
  • 4-8 years of related experience within an electronics design and development organization.
  • Proven team leadership experience in an IPD team environment/multifunctional groups
  • Familiarity with development and certification of Aerospace electronic products
  • Knowledge of JDE, Filemaker Pro, and Mentor Graphics – schematics and PADS–layout
  • Familiarity with DO-160D and Mil-Std-461C or similar industry standard certification requirements
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Previous experience in analog and digital circuit design
  • Must have the authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
