Will supervise managers who supervise employees who put together components parts to make assemblies, subassemblies, packaging or completed units. The ideal candidate will have proven operations management leadership experience in aerospace structures/manufacturing, successfully leading operational teams and providing daily, hands-on knowledge of assembly requirements.
Reviews and establishes production schedules based on product introduction, efficiency, materials supply and personnel resources; manage activities through subordinate managers to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements that are consistent with cost and delivery conditions. Manage production activities, schedules and personnel requirements for assigned areas collaborating with other functions such as materials, customer service, manufacturing engineering, quality inspection, HR, continuous improvement. Effectively manage tasks, resources and risks to make timely decisions regarding safety, quality and objectives of the business and company Embrace and take an active role in promoting continuous improvement. Plans and manage procedures and budgets; provide recommendations on quality and cost improvements and objectives of the facility. Manage and monitor operational processes, recommend/execute proactive action to facilitate correcting budget, quality and schedule variances. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all activities in support of production are coordinated and executed to achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency, (on cost, on quality, on time). Provide hands-on knowledge in an aerospace environment. Manage employee development.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. A minimum of 8 years of progressive growth and experience in Manufacturing Management within the aerospace, military or defense industries with a focus and hands-on experience in manufacturing assemblies. AS 9100 knowledgeable with extensive FOD control background Proficiency with Enterprise Requirements Planning (ERP) systems to carry out the stated responsibilities, preferable SAP. Possess outstanding verbal and written skills and the ability to work with all levels. Ability to lead and develop other managers.
