Based in Windsor, CT, The Sr. ES&H Specialist will have responsibility for the North Wales, Pennsylvania and Shelbyville, Indiana sites to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state environmental safety and health regulations. 


Sr. ES&H will ensure necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.  Is responsible for developing, implementing and administering safety, health, environmental protection, and substance abuse prevention programs affecting employee and public safety, occupational health, fire protection and prevention, and equipment and property protection. Serves as a resource to the employees and management to develop and administer a proactive prevention program and safety culture.  Provide leadership to maintain high standards of ES&H performance.


  • Develop and provide subject specific ES&H related training for three sites, striving for consistency and uniformity in the safety program as required by legislation or Company procedures, and identified for the promotion of high standards of ES&H management at the sites.
  • Ensures working knowledge of new developments in the industry and government regulations to team with the safety committee to implement continuous improvement.
  • Champion a safety culture and acts as the primary liaison within the organization and the interface to external agencies.
  • Operates and controls WWTP operations in compliance with Company discharge permits.
  • Researches, plans and coordinates safety training for all levels within the Company.
  • Conducts comprehensive ES&H audits and inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents, identifying safety measures and appropriate actions plans in compliance with OSHA regulations for review by Senior Management.
  • Compiles or initiates the compilation of required reports, maintain documentation of material, processes, equipment, and events used to measure performance, generate regulatory reports, and analyze trends.
  • Track and report performance measures, compile and submit regulatory information to ensure compliance with environmental permit conditions and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop measures to monitor ES&H performance and provide leadership in teaming with employees to maintain safety standards.
  • Leads the Safety Committee.
  • Investigates injuries, conditions and incidents that do, or could, involve actual or potential liability.
  • Provide other ES&H generalist responsibilities as required.


  • 4 year degree in the EHS field.
  • Must have a EHS Certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.)
  • Have 3-5 years manufacturing experience in EHS
  • 5-8 years with a BS or 3-6 years with a MS or equivalent experience in the manufacturing industry, aerospace a plus
  • Experience with OSHA and EPA guidelines
  • Strong understanding of environmental compliance
  • Experience leading and training OSHA and EPA seminars
  • Professionalism in dealing with adverse or difficult situations
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of an organization to influence a safety culture
  • Ability to travel 10-15% of the time to other site locations
