Triumph Engine Control Systems is a leading independent aerospace fuel system supplier for the commercial, military, helicopter and business jet markets. Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units and main fuel pumps for both the OE and aftermarket / spares end markets.

 

The Test Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining equipment used to test the functionality of environmental control systems for the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a broad range of hardware/software/systems design, development, testing, repair, up-grade, and maintenance services in support of manufacturing and engineering test equipment.
  • Project Management responsibility for managing Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) development projects from conception through implementation.
  • Design creative electronic hardware/software solutions.
  • Write test plans, procedures, and reports based on industry test standards. Analyze, develop, and deploy high performance hardware and software solutions.
  • Design, develop, debug, validate, and verify the fabrication of manual and automated test equipment.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including schematics, software documentation, and configuration deliverables.
  • Maintain existing test systems through bug fixes, improvement, and modifications.
  • Provide product line support functions.
  • Able to travel domestically, up to 100%, for the first 1-2 years.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in mechanical, aerospace or related engineering is required.  Master’s degree in engineering is desirable.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics required.
  • Experimental laboratory and design of experiment experience are desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in National Instruments LabView programming is required. 
  • Experience with industrial or aerospace high power variable and fixed frequency motor drives is a plus.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in failure analysis and troubleshooting environmental control systems, electronic circuits and mechanical controls.
  • Must be able to communicate well with both manufacturing and R&D personnel. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Word, and Excel for technical data analysis and presentation is required.  Expertise in Microsoft Visio, and AutoCAD are also desirable.
