Triumph Integrated Systems - Valencia is looking for a Machinist with strong experience in doing set ups and operation of a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications
  • Determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup
  • Uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • Makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required.
  • Some machines may be numerically controlled. 
  • Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
  • Must be able to perform set ups on a variety of CNC Lathes and Mills with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to set up and run mill-turn machines.
  • Experience on manual lathes and mills is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to follow instructions using work instruction or sketches.
  • Ability to inspect parts for conformance per the drawing specification and/or job work order requirements.
  • Must have the ability to make minor CNC program changes to ensure part conformity.
  • Notifies supervisor of discrepancies and assist in RCCA activities.
  • Become the subject matter expert in Milling and Lathe.
  • Knowledge and support of Lean activities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and college degree or equivalent in work experience 
  • 8 plus years of related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blue prints and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write notes for between shift tie ins.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and Trigonometry.
  • Must meet ITAR regulations in regard to citizenship requirements.
